Drake Park, Bend, Oregon

Drake Park reminds us of Laurelhurst in Portland, where right now is taken by the homeless camp I guess, this is a premier park where you can walk the dog or just stroll leisurely, we wanted to go downtown but when we saw this park, we turned around and investigate, it turned out it is on the edge of downtown.

Tumalo Falls, Bend, Oregon

I heard about this falls from our nephew, but never pay close attention until I am looking for things to see in Bend in case we are done with Smith Rock, when I search this place is close by where we stay, that is a big bonus.

Old Mill District, Bend, Oregon

It is very fortunate that our hotel is just a stone throw away from the Old Mill District, easy to get dinner or lunch, this place used to be and old lumber mill in 1916. It is now a modern shopping center.

Smith Rock State Park

It takes three hours from Beaverton (Portland) to get here, so by 07:30 AM we are on the road already, Pokie drove half way and I drove to Terrebonne, Oregon. We were having a good time with the GPS since this park is located in the middle of town. Either that, or I do not know to read the GPS properly.

On the way to B Loop

I was overjoy when the forecast is cloudy but no rain. Pokie decided to have picnic with Yulie, Hui, and Gerry, so we met at Oak Groves, Section 1 to 4. I chose the place, this is the first time we went to this Champoeg State Park

Columbia River Mouth

My favorite image of the morning

We stayed in Astoria thinking that the next day we will have the famous fish and chips from Bowpicker, we were there minutes before elevenish opening, still no activity. Curious, I go out and check the sign. ALAS, it is closed from May 2nd to May 11th. We went home via US 30 instead US 26, longer but a different scenery.

Ecola State Park

Ecola State Park - Cannon Beach

Now, that we are fully vaccinated, we are venturing out to see places locally within 100 miles from home, Ecola State Park has been in my mind for awhile.

Sunday Morning Walk

SW Weir Road

When I saw how green it was the other day, I decided to walk up here and capture the trees. It was only 0.9 miles to get up here but it is very steep, my iPhone captured 17 flight stairs climbed.

Bauman Farms

Since it was still early and we are done with Thompson's Mills, we stopped by here after we filled our tummy with In-n-Out burger.

Thompson's Mills State Heritage Site

After seeing this place from KGW-Grant's Getaways a few times, I decided to search in on the web and made a plan to see it myself, the only drawback is we could not get in due the pandemic, other than that it was a fine trip.
