Lowami Hart Woods Natural Area

Lowami Hart Woods Natural Area
After spending one week in hospital minus one day, it was so good to be back among the tall trees and the fresh oxygen. I fell on January 3rd on the first snow of the year, I went to the Urgent Care and my primary care physician the next week, everything checked out just needed some time to recover. Alas, I was getting weaker on my right side and finally I was referred to a Neurologist and an MRI was ordered on February 17th. The bleeding did not start until a month later.

Not even the completion of the MRI, the radiologist stopped the scan, and I had to go to the Emergency Room of the hospital right away or call the ambulance. To make matter short without too much drama, I had the surgery the same day at 4:30 PM. I had the procedure called Left Subdural Hematoma (basically my brain was shifted 11 mm due to the blood in my left-brain and it needed to be drained real quickly.

I was in the ICU for three nights and another three nights in the regular room while the drainage (two of them) were still attached to my skull. I have two holes in my head now and about 18 staples. Things seem to look up now and the staples should be removed next week. What an event.

Dawson Creek Business Park - Hillsboro

Dawson Creek
We had a break that Saturday morning/early afternoon, the sky lit up and the occasional showers stopped for awhile. I drove to Hillsboro Public Library and I was treated with Dawson Creek Business Park, it is a private park and open from dawn to dusk. I call it the duck landing pond. Enjoy....

The First Snow of 2016

The first snow of 2016
Welcome to 2016,

Here's my first photography of the snow in 2016, unfortunately I fell down that day, but I feel much better these days, as the recovery is a slow going. The snow just fell down and powdery so there was no need to use crampons on the shoes, that's what I was thinking, but I was wrong.

Retired.....How sweet it is......

My Wall of Shame
Welcome to Retirement...

01/01/2016 is a magic date - I am officially retired from DEQ. There is always an option to go back to the work force if I am too bored, but I will try to be active and keep my health. Here's the website with my many friends from the IT Department of DEQ.

The Most Peaceful Time at the Mall

Nordstrom, Washington Square
This is the most peaceful time at the mall to do last minute shopping, really! I have been coming here on Christmas Eve morning in the last three years. I wanted to see what it looks like on the last minute rush, but I was disappointed, it turned out to be the most peaceful time to shop for the last minute buying spree. See for yourself....

The Spirit of Christmas 2015

Bridgeport Village 2015
Ho...Ho....Ho....

Merry Christmas for those who celebrate......

I am trying the mirror-less camera, this time no tripod, no big camera and no cable release that will attract the attention of the security guard. So, no security guard on my tail, it is priceless. The rain was on and off last night, luckily I was able to grab an umbrella and shield my camera. At times, it was windy, so we retreated in the center gazebo which has a heater in it. Enjoy the festivity and I think I am going to put this camera into hibernation until 2016.

Holiday Cookies Exchange 2015

Chocolate - Candy Cane Cookies
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. This is our final gathering for the year 2015. This time is a bit different; we bake our cookies and our own home and bring them for “Holidays Cookies Exchange”. This time we had more time to chat and enjoy the ambience of the holiday seasons. We want to wish you a very Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. I would also like to say that the camera needs to go for hibernation, see you in early spring 2016, but if I have interesting subject, I will wake up my camera.
