Early Beaverton Farmers Market

 

We decided the night before that we need to visit Beaverton Farmers Market before we go to Japan next week. It was cloudy and overcast and not to mention it's right down chilly. Anyway we got some cookies, croffin (croissants and muffin combined), fresh snap peas, and fresh strawberry. Ooh...I opened my first Instagram account that afternoon.

Cedar Mill Falls & Blue Heron

 

Pokie is picking up Willow branches for home decorations. Since Pokie has not been to Cedar Mill Falls, I asked her if she wants to see it, she agrees. Ten years ago I went with Rod to this place but the water was much less than today. We made a short visit as we are hungry and it's almost lunch time.

I am glad that I went after my afternoon nap yesterday to see this place and taking pictures, the lighting is perfect if you ask me, cloudy and overcast, it was a beautiful afternoon. Walking up and down the street to capture the beauty of this place. Make sure that I do not miss anything that I could capture. The rest is history.

I have been waiting for another cloudy and overcast day, it's a perfect lighting if you ask me for nature photography. The colors of the trees as well as the flowers are popping out in a natural colors. Today is a perfect day, after we hit the gym I asked Pokie to stop by this spot while I compose and take in as much as I can.

This morning we passed this neighborhoods, I wanted to stop to take pictures but we are tired from the gym and we were hungry. So that afternoon, I decided to walk to this neighborhoods from home, I tell you, I was like a kid in a huge candy store, I enjoyed the walk very much although I got rained out a little.

More Flowers - A Study of Depth-of-Field

 

The day was cold, the wind was strong, the temperature was 47F with the wind chill was felt like 35F, winter was back. When we had lunch, if was getting darker and darker and It was hailing. I waited till 3:00 PM for my afternoon walk. It was not disappointing at all.

I have not seen these azalea in this location for years, it used to be form like boxes but now it is all natural which I like better. When I saw this I asked Pokie if we could stop by and capture it.

A walk in the Neighborhood

 

I promised myself that I will walk 2.0 miles, so I ventured early Sunday morning and explored the neighborhood. It was an overcast and luckily the rain hold off until later that morning. I accomplished walking 2 miles that morning. By the end of the day, I managed to add another 1.5 miles bringing a total of walking that today to 3.5 miles.

Capitol - Salem, Oregon

 

We plan to go to Dallas, Oregon, but we made a diversion to the Capitol in Salem when we heard there is TAIKO performance and spring festival. We arrive just before 9:00 in the morning and parking is still a breeze, when we left close to noon, it was packed, free parking is hard to come buy.

Hanami - the art of viewing the cherry blossoms

 

The weather is perfect, meaning no rain and overcast, just after sunrise, I spend about 40 minutes exploring the cherry blossoms, I can ask for a better weather. Roberta Lang informed me the day before since she lives on that street.

Go fly a kite !

 The promise of a dry day and 60 F, want me to go to the beach and fly a kite. The weather is way too perfect and there is no wind strong enough to fly even 'parafoil'. Anyway we need "salty air treatment"

Tempeh - Digital Incubator

 

Pokie has been nagging for me to build a"Digital Incubator" so she does not wake up in the middle of the night to adjust the incubator temperature like before. The solution is STC 1000, a small digital apparatus to make the temperature stable at 31.5 Celsius, by turning off and on of the heating and cooling automatically.
